Homogeneous Connections with Special Symplectic Holonomy
We classify all homogeneous symplectic manifolds with a torsion free connection of special symplectic holonomy, i.e. a connection whose holonomy is an absolutely irreducible proper subgroup of the full symplectic group. Thereby, we obtain many new explicit descriptions of manifolds with special symplectic holonomies. We also show that manifolds with such a connection are homogeneous iff they co...
متن کاملPrimitive Compact Flat Manifolds with Holonomy Group
From an important construction of Calabi (see [Ca], [Wo]), it follows that the compact Riemannian flat manifolds with first Betti number zero are the building blocks for all compact Riemannian flat manifolds. It is, therefore, of interest to construct families of such objects. These are often called primitive manifolds. Hantzsche and Wendt (1935) constructed the only existing 3-dimensional comp...
متن کاملSpace-times and Holonomy Groups
This paper discusses the full holonomy group for space-time manifolds in Ein-stein's general relativity. Some applications of holonomy theory to Weyl manifolds are presented.
متن کاملOn Two-Dimensional Holonomy
We define the thin fundamental categorical group P2(M, ∗) of a based smooth manifold (M, ∗) as the categorical group whose objects are rank-1 homotopy classes of based loops on M , and whose morphisms are rank2 homotopy classes of homotopies between based loops on M . Here two maps are rank-n homotopic, when the rank of the differential of the homotopy between them equals n. Let C(G) be a Lie c...
متن کاملOn the Fourier transform for a symmetric group homogeneous space
By using properties of the Young orthogonal representation, this paper derives a simple form for the Fourier transform of permutations acting on the homogeneous space of n-dimensional vectors, and shows that the transform requires 2n− 2 multiplications and the same number of additions.
